There's something about Hardwick Hall that just feels like a proper wedding venue. As I turned off the A1 and made my way towards Sedgefield on what was supposed to be a grey late-summer day, the sun actually decided to show up. A surprisingly bright and warm day for the time of year, the kind of light that wedding photographers dream about. Soft, warm, and just a little bit golden even at midday.
I arrived at Hardwick Hall Hotel just after 12 o'clock, grabbed my bags and headed straight for the Celebration Suite where Karen was getting ready. If you've ever photographed a wedding morning, you'll know it can go one of two very different ways - beautifully chaotic, or beautifully calm. This was the latter.
